




If anyone ever thought volunteering for the local PTA was "inconsequential women's work," they'd be wrong. Anaheim's Jan Harp Domene was national president of the PTA and a powerful voice for children in the state of CA and across the nation. She gave of herself selflessly so children could receive the best possible public education, and had the ear of legislators, principals, teachers, and community members who respected her advocacy and experience in school communities. Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Jan Domene epitomized that spirit.
