




U.S. education policy poised to copy the worst aspects of Chinese education (high-stakes testing, drill/rote emphasis) even as they hurry to encourage American-style creativity & innovation in their students. I agree with much of the article, although I think repetition through exercises and drills have their place in learning in math, music, and maybe language learning. And that until America abandons the culture of anti-intellectualism and values academics over athletics, teachers will not be respected the same way they are in other countries.
