Win $25 in gift certificates for Dole fresh fruit!

First, some good news to welcome you back: K12NN is participating in Del Monte’s free giveaway of fresh fruit! Thanks to Del Monte, I’ll be giving away 3 sets of $25 gift certificates all through September and into October as well.

The 50th commenter to this post will get a $25 in gift certificates to purchase Del Monte whole fresh fruit at the supermarket. The deadline for this giveaway is Monday, August 29, 2011, midnight Pacific Time or until 50 comments are reached. You may leave more than one comment but they cannot be added consecutively (i.e., 2 – 50 comments in a row). Spam comments will be disqualified. Provide your name and a valid email address with your comment.

Good luck! And follow after the jump to see about a contest where classes can win cash, the whole school could win fresh fruit and salad bars for the day, or school supplies.

“Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” is a Del Monte program that awards cash, fresh fruit, and salads to kindergarten thru 12th grade school teachers across North America to encourage them to incorporate healthy eating and living messages into classroom activities. This contest starts September 26, 2011.

Sixty teachers will win a total of $1,000 in cash to purchase school supplies and fresh fruit for their students. Top winners will also get a Del Monte Fresh Field Day event for their school in which the entire student body will enjoy a day of Del Monte fresh fruit, games and fun activities. Salad bars for schools will also be given away through promotions at supermarkets.

Teacher Monday -- Cash for Classrooms

Here are some notes on eligibility from the official Del Monte contest website:

“Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” encourages kindergarten thru 12th grade school teachers to incorporate healthy eating and living messages into classroom activities. Sixty teachers will win a total of $1,000 in cash to purchase school supplies and fresh fruit for their students. Several winners will also get a Del Monte Fresh® Field Day event for their school in which the entire student body will enjoy a day of Del Monte fresh fruit, games and fun activities.

To be eligible to win, teachers must register online, submit a short essay on how they will incorporate healthy eating and living messages into their lesson plans, then encourage all their fans to vote for them online. Ten winners will be selected each Monday for six consecutive weeks beginning October 3, 2011. Winners are based solely on the number of votes they receive. Winning teachers will receive $750 in cash to purchase school supplies and $250 in Del Monte® fresh fruit coupons for classroom fresh snacks and to use in fruit educational activities.

That's $1000 apiece for 60 teachers, not $1000 to split among them.
