Unsavory dealings by former CEO/current spouse of Sen Olympia Snowe the real reason for her resignation? Spouse John McKernan headed the largest for-profit chain of colleges in the U.S., which was sued by the DOJ & 11 states for fraudulent reporting re: illegal incentive pay for recruiters. From the article: "If the allegations are proven, then EDMC will be held liable for the theft of billions in government funds from Title IV." (The beltway narratives regarding Sen. Snowe's "moderation" and lack of "bipartisanship" in Congress are just a little too pat.)
