LA School Seismic and Building Safety Inspectors Allowed to Slide By Despite Past Firings, Felonies

California Watch’s investigative report reveals that of 300 building safety inspectors, 200 were allowed to keep inspecting school buildings even though they had past blots on their records ranging from firings for incompetence to felony convictions in construction-related cases.

There are several tools where parents can search databases for information on school retrofits that have passed inspections, and schools flagged for review because of their location on or near an earthquake fault line.
